Emergency Tent Support by Translating Palestine
The “Sameer Abu Salim Tent Initiative” is fundraising through GoFundMe to secure, purchase, and distribute tents in Southern Gaza. The initiative also supplies cash envelops on an “as needed” basis to allow families the independence to secure the specific aid they require for themselves. Pls write “CU ALT Reunion” in your donation so we can track our fundraising!
Help us hit a goal of $30,000 split across the above funds. Donations to the above links will clearly demonstrate the money Columbia is missing out on from alumni donations and event attendance due to their recent actions. The first three links track the number of donations, so we can measure our impact and the money CU is losing. Consider donating both to those and to the GoFundMes.
We suggest giving the amount you would have paid for any (or all!) of the below Barnard and Columbia University Reunion Events:
General Reunion Weekend Ticket for All Classes: $150
Chelsea Piers Party: $125 ($85 for Young Alumni)
Class of 2014: Reception and Dinner: $85
Columbia / Barnard Hillel Shabbat Services and Dinner: $36
LGBTQ+ History Walking Tour: $30
Dean’s Breakfast and State of the College Address: $25
The needs of the protesting students across the country change constantly depending on the actions taken against them by administrations and law enforcement. We also encourage you to research mutual aid and bail funds for your local student Gaza Solidarity Encampment and Protest efforts and donate to those funds as needed, and to give directly to people on the ground in Palestine.
